The first thing you should do when planning a wedding is choose a general date; of course, this date is likely to be fairly fluid, as a lot of factors will influence when the wedding actually takes place, but if you come up with a general date, this will allow you to have a timeframe as you start shopping around at different venues.

You will be able to set a concrete date for the wedding after you have chosen a venue, fitting your general timeframe into the dates that work for the venue you want – and once you have hit this plateau, it will be time to start shopping for a wedding dress; this is the next most important thing, and after you pass this point, everything else will be able to really start falling into place!

After you have chosen the venue and picked out your wedding dress, there will still be plenty of steps – ranging from deciding on food, picking a DJ and a photographer, and figuring out how you want to do the decorations – but you can take these things at a more leisurely pace, and they will all begin to fall into place.
