One of the most common maladies people face is an earache (or an ear infection), and if you have ever had a serious earache yourself, you know that the fact that this is a common malady makes it no less painful when you deal with one yourself; while it is advisable that you seek medical attention when you are dealing with an earache, you may not be able to get to a doctor right away, and if this is the case, it will be important that you know a few things you can do to take care of this earache on your own.
Drinking lots of water will be a big key in helping you to feel better when you have an earache (same with just about any sickness!), as hydrading your body translates to keeping it healthy; in addition to drinking lots of water, however, you should also keep in mind the fact that your ears, nose, and throat are all connected, and you will want to treat your earache the same way you would treat a sore throat – drinking tea, and keeping your body warm in order to prevent the problem from worsening. Using heat on your ear is another great idea, which you can do with a heat pack, or by putting rice in a sock and warming it up in the microwave; chewing gum to help keep your ear open is another great thing to do in addition to heating your ear, and you should make sure you are sleeping on the opposite ear, as this will prevent the affected ear from getting worse (and in fact, if you are able to, it will be even more beneficial if you can sleep sitting up!). And finally, realize that antibiotics really are the best way to take care of an ear infection (and it will be important to take care of an ear infection, as an unchecked ear infection can quickly spread to your nose and throat, making you overwhelmingly sick), so even after you have put these home remedies to use in order to lessen your discomfort, you should go to a doctor to get the ear infection cleared up completely.Moved Permanently
