The world is full of people who have thought that they might want to someday write a novel, but who have been misled into thinking that they cannot actually write one because they do not have the proper training, or have not studied novel writing the way that other “professional” writers may have. And while it is certainly true that your chances of success (in the way of publication, and in the way of eventual sales) is greater if you have the training and practice many professional writers have, the plain and simple truth is that anyone can write a novel – and even though not just “anyone” can write a great novel, you will never know until you try!
In order to successfully write a novel, the first thing you will have to do is have a general idea of where your story will be going; this does not mean that you need to have the entire plot outlined or the entire story planned out, but you should know where you expect the story to go, and you should know the characters you expect to carry you there.Moved Permanently

The next thing you will need to make sure you do if you are wanting to write a novel is set aside a “writing time” each day; this consistency will be a big key in enabling you to get from the starting point of the novel to the far-away finish line. And the area where most people (especially most perfectionists) stumble is in that they want to continue editing and perfecting different areas of their story as they go along; if you do this, you will risk never finishing the project at all, which is why the best approach when trying to write a novel is to simply write! After you have finished writing your novel, there will still be a long road to travel down – full of editing, trying to land an agent, and trying to land a publisher – but by taking these steps, you will be able to capture the story on paper – and this is the first necessary step in the journey to writing and publishing a novel!
